Pens vs Jets Preview

The Pens take on the Jets tonight at 7pm at the Consol Energy Center.

The Pens are 44-21-6 with a 4th seed spot in the Eastern conference with the Flyers within two points. The Jets are 34-30-8 and fighting for a playoff spot, they are four points away from the 8th seed spot that is held by the Capitals.

A big player for the Jets has been Evander Kane. He has points in thirteen of his last fourteen games that includes nine goals and seventeen points. Look for him to come out big and get the Jets moving, after a disappointing loss to the Canes, he will be looking to pull his team up.

Thiessen will start in the net for the Pens and will have to be sharp with the Jets snipers.

Geno has had goals in the three straight games and points in his last four games. He will be looking to keep the streak alive and get the Pens PP going along with Sid.

Sid who hasn't scored a goal since his lastest comeback, has been making plays and setting up his teammates. I think he will be on the hunt for a goal and even more dangerous. The Jets D will have their hands full with both Sid and Geno's lines, even Staal's line.

Injuries:

Pens
Vitale with an upper body injury and is day-to-day
Johnson with an undisclosed injury

Jets
Eric Fehr with an upper body injury
Chris Thorburn with an lower body injury

The Pens have won ten straight home games against the Jets, which is the second longest active home game winning streak in the franchise behind their thirteen home winning streak with the Islanders.

LETS GO PENS!!!
