Possible First Round Playoff Match-Up!

By: MF, The Pens Hockey Show

The Penguins will be in Columbus to battle the Blue Jackets! The Penguins are in need of a win and a win would will get them back on track. They played a hard fought game last night against the Los Angeles Kings, but fell 3-2. The Penguins lead the NHL in man lost games and will be adding another name to that list. Marcel Goc is out with a lower-body injury for a few weeks. He will join Evgeni Malkin who is out 2-3 weeks with a hairline fracture in his foot. However the Penguins have some good news on the injury front. Kris Letang has been cleared for games, but it will be up to him when he wants to join the Penguins back on the ice for game time. It's great to see Letang doing better and I want him to be 100% ready when he returns, whenever he thinks that is. The Penguins have recalled Beau Bennett from Wilkes-Barre Scranton and has been praised for his hard work in the minors. He is a hard working player and will be a great addition for the Penguins with their lineup falling to injuries. The Penguins need to come out and put pucks on the net. They will have to dump in the puck and battle for it. The Penguins will have to get to the dirty areas and battle for a good shot on net.

By MF, The Pens Hockey Show

The Penguins are ready to take it to the Phoenix Coyotes tonight in Pittsburgh at Consol Energy Center! The Penguins are still battling injuries and a new member has been added to that list and his is a big star. Evgeni Malkin will be out 2-3 weeks due to a foot injury per Coach Dan Bylsma. Malkin suffered the injury during his first shift against the St.Louis Blues. The doctors have not indicated that Malkin would need surgery on the foot, but it doesn't seem like he will. The Penguins have recalled Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. It's hard to see Malkin go down with such an injury and this late in the season. Tonight the Penguins can clinch a playoff berth for the eighth consecutive time. The Penguins need to pull it together and play a tight game. Time to Sweep the Capitals!

By: MF, The Pens Hockey Show

It's great to be back tonight after a long work night, but nothing like working for an NHL team. I was excited to see the Penguins come out with a win against the Washington Capitals. Sidney Crosby tallied three points that night in a 3-2 win. The Penguins are now back home and will be facing the Capitals once again. This is of course a huge rivalry. It's the last regular season game against the Capitals and look to keep their winning streak against them going. I think the Penguins can handle it tonight. The Capitals will be playing the same netminder tonight Jaroslav Halak. The Penguins have to come out with speed and take it early to the Capitals as they will be playing some desperate hockey to get a much needed two points.

The Pens lineup is as follows:

Forwards
Kuni, Sid, Stempniak
Jokinen, Geno, Neal
Pyatt, Sutter, Gibbons
Glass, Goc, Adams

Defense
Orpik, Maatta
Scuderi, Niskanen
Despres, Bortuzzo
