The Penguins Land in Boston!

The Penguins have landed in Boston to face the Bruins at TD Garden. The Penguins are coming off a loss to the Montreal Canadiens, it was a hard fought game, but the Canadiens were able to hold off the Penguins. They are in Boston and hope to come out with a win tonight! To help with this, the Penguins have recalled forwards Zach Sill and Andrew Ebbett from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL). Also, Beau Bennett has been place on injured reserve, his injury has not been disclosed. Glass is also out of the lineup for the Penguins tonight. On another note, the NHL announced that Evgeni Malkin was their first star of the week and congrats to Malkin for his hard work. The Penguins will have to work hard and keep the puck in the Bruins zone tonight! Lets Go Pens!

Pens 3 Bruins 4 OT

OT Period
4:26- The Bruins come out of this game with the win 4-3 over the Pens. Was a hard fought game for the Pens, but the Bruins take this one.

4:26- KRUG SCORES! The Pens let Krug walk in and give him a lane. He rifles one over the shoulder of Flower.

5:00- Here we go! The Pens have taken this game to OT and now they need to finish it! Lets Go Pens!


3rd Period
0:00- We are headed to OT!

0:00.2- SID SCORES!!! Neal shuffles the puck and it hits Kuni! Kuni backhands the puck to the net and Sid puts the loose puck in the net with 0.3 seconds left! We are tied 3-3!

1:10- The Pens have an empty net!

2:00- The time is the enemy of the Pens as it whines down.

5:13- CHARA SCORES! Chara fires a hard shot from the point and is redirected by the stick of Sid over the shoulder of Flower. The Bruins retake the lead 3-2.

5:52- Flower snaps out the pad to make a save on Iginla's backhander!

6:23- The Pens are able to clear the puck and get a rush up ice after a great pad save by Flower, which was through traffic.

8:51- NEAL SCORES HIS SECOND OF THE NIGHT!! Jokinen feeds another great pass to Neal and he snaps one up over the shoulder of Rask, it rings off the top corner post!! The Pens have tied this game 2-2!!

9:53- The Pens have been winning puck battles on the boards, but Rask has been outstanding for the Bruins along with Flower for the Pens.

12:50- Gibbons battles off the boards with the puck and gets it to the doorstep of Rask for Duper, who fires a shot, but Rask is strong in the net.

14:43- Neal gets behind the defense and gets a chance! His shot goes off a defense stick and it's glove by Rask. Great chance for the Real Deal!

16:50- Orpik comes flying to lay a huge hit on Paille and separates him from the puck. The Pens start the puck up ice.

20:00- Third period time! The Pens need to keep chipping away at the Bruins and putting pucks on net! Lets Go Pens!


2nd Period
0:00- Second period is over and the Pens have cut the Bruins lead by one. Shots are 20-13 in favor of the Pens.

2:05- The Pens have put some pucks towards Rask, but he has matched each of them with a save, even getting help from the crossbar.

4:11- Neal with a slap shot that rings off the post!

4:41- Bergeron snaps one from the point and Flower is able to steer it to the corner.

6:12- Neal goes behind the net and passes to Maatta at the point. His shot makes it through traffic and Rask gloves it up for a faceoff.

9:18- The Pens still have the advantage shot wise with 18 to the Bruins 11.

10:41- Duper fires a shot and Rask makes the save. Kuni crashes the net for the rebound, but Rask gets a piece and falls. Sid reaches for the puck, but Chara barely beats him to sweep it out of his reach!

15:40- The Pens have showed some life to start this period. They have had some good chances.

19:23- NEAL SCORES! Jokinen wins a puck battle off the boards and outlets one to Neal! Neal snipes one pass Rask! The Pens are within one, 2-1 Bruins.

19:39- Tanger is back on the ice to start the second period.

20:00- It is time for the second period! The Pens need to come out and get an early one to start this period! Lets Go Pens!


1st Period
0:00- The first period ends and the Bruins have the lead 2-0 over the Pens.

0:30- Tanger is headed down the runway to the locker room, he was limping.

1:50- The Pens get some pressure in the Bruins zone again. Geno gets the puck and puts it toward Rask, but it goes wide.

4:17- SMITH SCORES ON THE PP! The Bruins have a crisp passing play and Smith is left wide open to put on over the pad of Flower. Just like that the Bruins are up 2-0 over the Pens.

4:26- The Bruins will now have a chance at a PP as Duper takes a seat for hooking.

4:58- The Pens have showed dominate throughout this game, but the Bruins are the ones leading this one. Strange turn of events.

7:33- ERIKSSON SCORES! Orpik fans on his shot attempt up ice and Eriksson makes him pay. He makes a move to get the puck to his forehand and puts it pass Flower. 1-0 Bruins

10:11- The shots are 10-2 in favor of the Pens, showing early dominance in this game.

11:34- Sutter gets speed down the wing and cuts to the center of the ice. Sutter flings a backhander towards the net and Rask makes the save up high.

13:18- The Bruins are able to survive the Pens PP, but the Pens have some good pressure early in this game. Rask has matched them so far.

14:26- Geno enters the Bruins zone and just puts them to waste. He walks around Chara like nothing, but Rask bails out Chara with a pad save.

15:18- Marchand gets a high sticking penalty and the Pens will get the first PP of the game.

16:23- Adams gets a rush up ice after the Bruins had some good offensive zone time. His shot is grabbed up by Rask and he waits for the whistle.

18:13- The Pens have a strong start to the period! Sid strips Chara of the puck and sets up Kuni. His first shot goes off the side of the net and regains the puck. Rask is there to make the second save on Kuni.

20:00- The puck drops at TD Garden! The Pens face the Bruins! Time to come out fast and strong! Lets Go Pens!
