Time to snap the streak (Game updates - Penguins at Jets)

By: MF,

The Pittsburgh Penguins are back at it again with the second game in a back-to-back situation. Last night they fell to the Minnesota Wild in a 2-1 loss and are now in Winnipeg to take on the Winnipeg Jets.

These two teams met only three days ago, which resulted in a 2-1 overtime victory for the Pens. It is expected to be another close contest.

Now, this is a perfect situation for the Penguins as they look to snap a losing streak. They have yet to win the second game in a back-to-back scenario this season. No better time than now.

For tonight’s contest, the only change from last night are the lines. Head Coach, Mike Sullivan has rearranged the lines in hopes of getting the offense moving. The Pens are looking to get more offense going and get more goals in five-on-five situations.

The Pens lineup is as follows:

Forwards
Sheary - Crosby – Rust
Hagelin - Malkin - Hornqvist
Guentzel - Sheahan - Kessel
Kuhnhackl - McKegg - Reaves

Defense
Dumoulin - Letang
Maatta - Ruhwedel
Cole - Trotman

Murray in the net!

8:41 - Back to full strength for both teams.

10:43 - Things are not going all that well for the Pens. Malkin has a disagreement in Patrick Laine. They both go to the box for roughing.

3:11 - Back to the power play as Bryan Little is off to the box for holding. The Pens need to convert.

4:05 - Power play ends. The Pens had great puck control, but Hellebuyck only had to worry about one shot. Too much passing for the Pens.

12:18 - DeSmith makes a huge save on the penalty kill. Rust is set free.

14:18 - Another horrible penalty by the Pens as Rust takes a seat for holding.

15:35 - A solid penalty killing effort by the Pens. Maybe they can build off it.

17:35 - DeSmith receives a delay of game penalty as he tried to clear the puck, but it went over the glass in the defensive zone. Penalty killing time for the Pens.

20:00 - Time for the second period. DeSmith is in the net to start. The Pens have to turn things around in this period. Lets Go Pens!

6:02 - Blake Wheeler scores. Mark Scheifele enters the zone and dished a pass to center for Wheeler who is driving to the net. Wheeler puts one through the five-hole of Murray. 2-0 Jets

8:08 - Hagelin gets the puck on net and the Pens crash in on the net. The puck comes out to Malkin in the slot, but Connor Hellebuyck makes the stop.

12:15 - The Pens get some good offensive zone time, but it is short lived. Jets in control.

14:51 - Not a great start for the Pens and they have not found their footing yet.

18:40 - Andrew Copp scores. The Pens are unable to clear the puck and the Jets cycle the puck. Copp gets the puck in the slot and rips one past the glove of Murray. 1-0 Jets

20:00 - Puck drop in Winnipeg! The Pens need to get to their game early and play smart. Lets Go Pens!
