Off-day news (10/10/17)

It was announced by Executive Vice President and General Manager, Jim Rutherford that the Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled Chris Summers (defenseman) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL).

In addition, the Penguins visited the White House for the second straight year as Stanley Cup Champions. The Penguins have been hosted by three United States Presidents including George H.W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump for their five championship wins (1991, 1992, 2009, 2016, and 2017). The 19 players who remained on the team from the 2016-17 championship season attended the event.
