0:02- Pens PP!
0:07- Sid with an empty net chance and is robbed by the goal post.
1:12- Caps put Holtby back in and then Pens with icing. Holtby comes out again.
1:27- Caps empty their net.
2:36- Flower makes a nice pad save to direct the puck to the far corner.
5:02- Duper with a sneaky sharp angle shot, but Holtby is able to make the save.
8:02- NISKANEN SCORES!!! Pens start up ice with some momentum after the penalty kill. Sid comes flying into the center of the Caps zone and passes to Cooke. Cooke makes a cross ice pass to Niskanen. Nisky fires a hard shot right over a down Capital player and between the glove and pad of Holtby. Pens take the lead 2-1!
8:11- Pens with a huge PK effort by the Pens to kill off the four minute Caps PP.
12:11- Caps are getting another PP chance as Cooke is headed to the box for boarding. Cooke ends up getting an extra two minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct and Caps now have a four minute PP.
15:40- Glass lays a huge hit on a Capitals player in the offensive zone.
18:47- Pens are able to kill off the Caps PP. Good way to start the third period.
20:00- Third period time! Caps have a 1:12 PP to work with to start. Huge penalty kill for Pens. Lets Go Pens!
2nd Period
0:00- Second period ends and the game is tied 1-1 each team with a PP goal.
0:48- Vitale is sent off to the box for tripping and the Caps will get a PP chance.
1:30- Orpik dumps Ovechkin to the ice with one hand. Physical force.
2:51- Cooke with a drive that goes up and over the head of Holtby.
4:39- Flower comes out a little to challenge on Caps shot and makes a nice save.
6:11- Caps ice the puck. Pens offensive zone chance.
8:53- MARTIN SCORES ON THE PP!!! Bennett lets the puck drop to Sid who makes a nice pass to Martin at the point. Martin fires a hard shot that blows pass Holtby. 1-1 tie game!
10:49- Pens going on the PP as Chimera is sent to the sin bin for hooking.
11:40- CAPS OVECHKIN SCORES ON THE PP! Ovechkin is left alone at the side of the net and fires one pass the blocker of Flower. Caps take 1-0 lead.
